Before becoming the first deputy in Sarzeau, Vincent Charlin had the idea of founding the association l’Outil en main in the commune. This association has existed since 1987 throughout France. The goal is to convey a taste for hard work and love for a job well done to children aged 9 to 14 thanks to familiarization with handicrafts.
About twenty young people have already registered
On Wednesday, September 14, the first workshops opened their doors under the leadership of Patrick Le Sommer, in the former premises of the laboratory located on rue Paul Helleu in Sarzeau. About twenty young people have already been registered for ten different workshops: masonry, electrical installation, plumbing, hairdressing, boilermaking, wallpapering, decorating, bicycle mechanics, IT, painting, blankets, carpentry, cooking and sewing. There are still a few vacancies.
Every Wednesday from 14:00 to 16:00 during the school term, the youngsters are supervised by 33 volunteers, all former professionals.
At the end of the year, every student who attended the initiations will be awarded a diploma, knowing that every three meetings the young people will discover another profession that the association offers.
