The Kingfisher Group has chosen the Nord department for the first stores of its Screwfix DIY brand, aimed at professionals. Indeed, as LSA revealed on Tuesday, September 13, the first outlets will open by the end of the year in Wattrelos, Wasquehal and Feignies. The British group has been trying to establish itself in France for several years. It was launched only in the spring of 2021, first opening a website.
A year and a half later, the project will finally come to fruition with the opening of three stores on French soil, based on the British model. “The expectations of professionals are very clear: no loss of time, no interruption in the supply chain and, above all, prices among the best on the market,” Kingfisher CEO Thierry Garnier assured in May 2022.

The promises of the DIY brand, founded in 1979, are numerous: “click and download in one minute and home delivery in less than an hour”, “a short range of 11,000 references in plumbing, electrical and other small tools”, “and the availability of products which reaches 99%”…

And Screwfix intends to quickly implement in France. If the first three stores open in the north in the coming weeks, the rest should follow. Especially since, as LSA points out, the stakes in this sector are high, representing several tens of billions of euros per year.
